In today's mobile phone market there are hundreds of mobile phone producers and thousands of mobile phone models to select from. First it is important in which country you are living as many mobile phone companies don't have support and service centers in all countries. So when you are going to buy a mobile phone see whether the mobile company have a service center in your country. For example if you are from Sri Lanka and if you bought an iPhone 3GS you are in trouble as the iphone producing company Apple Inc don't have service center in Sri Lanka.

Then, think for what purpose you want to have that particular mobile phone. Does the price is acceptable for you or go for a plan from a carrier where you can pay monthly.

If there is mobile phone insurance get it for your phone as it will cover the loss or damage of your expensive mobile phone.

There are phones with simple user ability and phones which can be used as hand held computers. Many people have expensive mobile phones and don't know even 25% of its functions. So if you want to buy a phone be ready to learn about it in your own language or learn about it in English.
